About Us

We've a 45-year history in business in North Wales. Our first business was as boat builders in Abersoch on the Llyn. During the winter months the boatyard was quiet, and in looking for winter work for the craftsmen, the founder Barrie Grayson, my father, formed Peninsula Home Improvements in Pwllheli on the Llyn Peninsula... hence the name! Barrie still works in Peninsula as Chairman and Joan, my mother, looks after the accounts.

Today we employ 30 staff. Many of these have been working for Peninsula since we formed in 1984.

We have, and will continue to have, a certain philosophy here at Peninsula based on workmanship and customer service. It's really important for us to provide the highest quality products, fitted to the highest standards. We make sure we look after our customers from beginning to end. Unique to Peninsula however, is the fact that even when the guarantee ends, we are still on call to service any problem a customer may have.

The double-glazing industry has suffered bad press historically and with good reason in some cases. Bullying tactics and escalating quotes are just some of the reasons for this bad press. Peninsula has always calculated how much each job will cost and then deliver to that cost. There are no extras and hidden charges, and we certainly don't do any pressure selling like some companies may do!

Peninsula will not compromise on quality to secure a job at a lower price; neither will we start the quoting at a ridiculously high price. Our prices are worked on exact needs and costs, that is why we can tell you straight away what you will pay at the end of the job. We want you to have what you need and within your budget.
