A curved conservatory

Most people envisage extensions having straight lines but this conservatory we’re constructing in Bangor will be curved showing that if you have a dream for something we can almost always achieve it! The conservatory will be 4.6m wide with a 2.3m radius. The foundations have been dug and the steelwork has been fabricated so we’re on schedule to have it completed by mid October so you’re your eye out on our blog for an update.

Maximising on spectacular sea views

When you have a spectacular sea view it’s only right that you have an extension that maximises those views from every angle but not just from ground level in the living room but also the Master Suite bedroom so we’re delighted with this recent two-storey glazed construction we’re just about to complete in Red Wharf Bay. The glazed gable is in aluminium offering floor to ceiling windows in the Master Bedroom and French doors from the living room which open out straight on to the beach. This construction also included a new entrance porch and cladding, windows and doors in a sun room.

A stunning Orangery in Malpas

We’re in the middle of installing a stunning Orangery to be used as a living room in Malpas, Cheshire. The 7m x 6m structure will have hardwood frames, glass fibre roof and facing brick, and is due for completion at the end of August. This installation is the perfect example of how we often win business as it came through a casual conversation Ashley Bowen-Jones, our service manager was having with the owners while he was doing a repair on their house in Abersoch.

Sympathetic Stone-clad Orangery

An Orangery adds a new dimension to a home and provides a seamless link between your house and garden, and as the building stones in Wales are varied and reflect the diverse geology of the country, we’re always mindful of ensuring that any installation works with, not against its surroundings. This Orangery is sympathetic to the house and we were at great pains to source similar stone cladding so the end result is that it blends into the home. We fitted Residence 9 Casement Windows which are traditional looking, along with Welsh Slate sills on the interior and exterior. We also fitted a roof lantern to flood this new sitting room with natural light.

Aluminium Conservatory

We’re currently in the planning phases of installing a new Aluminium Conservatory for one of our clients with hopefully an imminent start date. The request was for a clean, modern living space that could be used all year round with minimal framing. Our solution is to use sliding glass walls with very narrow interlockers where the frames meet of only 30mm, and the steel structure holding the frame up will be largely hidden within the glazing and the roof. It will also incorporate a circular rooflight as well as an aluminium (Atlas) roof which has very narrow sightlines in the rafters and ridge. We’re very excited about this project as the end result will meet all our clients’ requests in a sleek and elegant design that compliments and respects the design and structure of their home.

Eco extension, peninsula, solarlux, balustrade, SIPS, SL97, triple glazed, passivhaus

We built a revolutionary Eco-extension at our own premises. We used SIPS (Structural insulated panels) for the walls, a Guardian warm roof, Solarlux passivhaus rated SL97 bifold, a 6 metre Solarlux SL160 lift and slide patio door and beautiful postless glass balustrading for the outside. It requires very little or no heating even in colder weather to maintain a comfortable feeling inside!

We are extremely pleased with both product and the polite, courteous manner of the fitters. Excellent.
