Brad's spin-off for 20 years of dedication

Twenty years of service has earned an Anglesey employee a directorship and a spin in some of the world's top sports cars.  Brad Mayhew, of Gaerwen-based Peninsula Home Improvements, received the double award from the company for his dedication and the contribution he has made to the company's success.  Peninsula MD Ken Grayson, well known for springing surprises on his staff to reward them for performance and dedication, had been planning both for some time and has had a difficult time keeping them under wraps until the time was right to make the announcement.  After being told, Brad, who has never lost a day's work through sickness or taken an unofficial day off since he has worked for the company, had a special day off with the blessing of the boss and travelled to the famous Thruxton Motor Racing Centre, Hampshire, where he spent the day driving powerful and sought-after sports cars.  He said: "It was fantastic.  Just like a dream come true.  It was like watching the TV programme Top Gear, except I was in the driving seat."  Ken said: "Brad has made a significant contribution to the success of the company during the last 20 years." 21/5/2008 (Holyhead & Anglesey Mail)
