Peninsula wins Customer Care Award

Gaerwen-based Peninsula Home Improvements has recently won two prestigious accreditations in recognition of the quality of their service. The first from the Consumer Protection Association, which presented the company with a Customer Care Award and the second from TrustMark; a Government-backed scheme to help consumers find reliable and trustworthy tradesmen.

Presenting Peninsula MD, Ken Grayson, with the award, Simon Raphael of the Consumer Protection Association, said: “This award is only made to companies which over a period of time have demonstrated exceptional commitment to customer service and satisfaction. I am therefore delighted to present Peninsula with this award and congratulate you and your team on this achievement.”

The TrustMark accreditation, which is backed not only by the Government but also by the building industry and consumer groups, is only awarded to companies whose technical skills, trading record and financial status have been independently and regularly checked over a specific period of time.

To obtain this accreditation, firms also have to sign up to a code of practice that includes the provision of an insurance-backed warranty relating to the quality of their products and installation and provide deposit protection insurance. To obtain the TrustMark accreditation, firms must also be able to carry out all work to approved health and safety standards, have a user-friendly complaints procedure to help resolve issues and be able to tell customers about any building regulations they must comply with prior to them entering into any contract.

Commenting about the two latest awards the company has received, Peninsula managing director, Ken Grayson, said: “Our commitment to customer satisfaction has always been paramount in our operations and we are always striving to improve the quality of our service to our customers. We are therefore very proud that our efforts have been recognised by two such highly regarded organisations as the Consumer Protection Association and TrustMark.”

Peninsula is the only conservatory manufacturer and double glazing company in Gwynedd and Anglesey and one of only a handful of such firms in North Wales to receive the TrustMark accreditation.

To gain the accreditation, the firm’s technical skills were independently checked through regular on-site inspections as well as checks made on their trading record and financial status. To maintain the TrustMark accreditation, the quality of Peninsula’s work, trading practices and customer satisfaction levels will be monitored by TrustMark on a regular basis.
