Band in the swing to drum up funds

A MAJOR concert is being staged in Beaumaris to raise funds for a popular band.
Seindorf Beaumaris Band are staging the Summer Swings show at Canolfan Biwmaris on Saturday, July 14. The concert has been backed by
Heritage Hardwood Conservatories who have made an £800 donation towards the cost of organising the event.
The night will feature a combination of Brass Band Music and a full rhythm section including piano, bass, drums and guitar that will come together to create a unique big band sound.
The concert will be fronted by Britain's top saxophonist, Mike Hope, lead tenor saxophone player with the famous Syd Lawrence Band.
For many years now, the band has gained a reputation second to none for it's themed summer concerts that have become the highlight of the band's busy calendar.
Musical director Gwyn Evans is renowned for pushing out the boundaries when it comes to putting on brass band concerts.
Heritage Hardwood Conservatories managing director Ken Grayson, said "I have been so impressed with the band's previous concerts, the cultural contribution they make and the entertainment value they provide, that we decided that this year we would like to help them with their fundraising activities.
"Our £800 contribution towards the cost of organising the concert will mean that they will make that much more money towards what we believe is a very worthwhile cause and as a company we are very pleased to be involved in this event."
Gwyn Evans, said "
Heritage Hardwood Conservatories has an enviable track record of supporting the arts in North Wales and we are extremely grateful to the company for supporting Seindorf Beaumaris Band in this way."
This year's concert is expected to raise between £1,200 and £1,500 for the band's funds which will be used to purchase new instruments.
