We have also contributed an extra cash investment to enable a scholarship scheme supporting local disadvantaged children and families on Anglesey to access the bilingual services provided by Gwasanaeth Ysgolion William Mathias (GYWM), a charity based service, responsible for delivering the music service in Gwynedd, Anglesey and Denbighshire This is a great opportunity for us to support up and coming talent and creativity on a local level.
On the Sunday night of 'Summer NIght Jazz', Gwasanaeth Ysgolion William Mathias will be taking to the stage to perform classics from the world of Opera and the West End shows. This year GYWM will be offering a very special summer course at the Conwy centre, Llanfair Pwll which will be happening over 3 days. This overnight course will culminate with the very special open air concert at the grounds of Plas Newydd.
The course provides exciting and constructive experiences for the children and young people who are members of the county groups in Gwynedd and Anglesey. With the extra support of Peninsula, more disadvantaged young people who are passionate about developing their musical skills from Anglesey and Gwynedd schools, who would not normally be able to attend, will have the opportunity to be able to attend the course. We are especially pleased to have partnered with the Arts & Kids INVEST initiative to support disadvantaged young individuals who wouldn't be able to attend without financial help. Arts & Kids INVEST is an A&B Cymru initiative made possible by funding from the Arts Council of Wales.
