Peninsula proud to support the Eisteddfod

We're delighted to be supporting this years' Eisteddfod, which will be held on our doorstep in Anglesey 4th - 12th August this summer.  This years festival celebrates the 150th Birthday and creativity of the world renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, whose designs were well beyond his time and are a heavy influence on the grand designs style structures we build today in our glass houses and wintergardens

As part of the celebrations, the prominent Welsh artist, Manon Awst, who sculpts from stone echoing Frank Lloyd Wright preference for natural materials, will create a garden in ‘Y Lle Celf’, in which a series of talks and a book launch on his work and life will be held, as well as a prize presentation for Welsh architecture.

Why a showroom visit really is worth it!

    February 10 2017

It’s highly unlikely you’d buy a car without first visiting the dealer’s showroom. The same should be said for your new windows and doors too. They are likely to be one of the largest investments you make, and arguably the most important when it comes to the look and value of your home.

Even if you have a very good idea of what you want, a showroom gives you the opportunity to not only see the products you have in mind, but to explore other options. You don’t know what you don’t know. Visiting a window showroom will either cement your ideas or present new ones for you to consider.

TV shows and home magazines are full of inspiration but you need to be sure that the windows and doors you choose, suit your home, your family and your lifestyle.

Visiting a showroom gives you the opportunity and the environment to really see windows, front doors, sliding doors, bi-fold doors, even window and door furniture, up close. Are you aware of all colour options, grained finishes, handle options, opening configurations, double or triple glazing, alternative glazing options, security features?

You may have ruled out uPVC in favour of timber, but have you seen a timber-alternative window up close? Can you tell the difference? Do you know what a flush casement is? Aluminium windows have some of the narrowest sightlines on the market. Sliding doors or Bi-Folds? How often will they be open? What are your views like? Have you seen the latest in front door technology? Some of the latest contemporary front doors have fingerprint recognition or Bluetooth control! Traditional conservatory, orangery or modern glazed extension?

A good window and door showroom will showcase the latest in design and technology in a plethora of materials, colours and finishes. You’ll also have the opportunity to discuss your ideas with a Designer. We all know the archetypal window salesman is pushy and has a reputation for out staying their welcome. A showroom visit allows you the opportunity to be in control of the length of any meeting. Once you have seen what you need and have the information you want, you can leave of your own accord. However, a good Designer will also know the products and has seen them installed in all styles of properties, in all types of locations and for all kinds of homeowners. A Designer will be able to ask questions that you may not have considered and can help you explore all options available.

Visiting a window showroom will undoubtedly ensure you make an informed decision.
