I thought it was a good time to follow up from our previous announcements about the current situation with lead-times, because I know we’ve been fielding some queries along these lines.
Firstly, I’d like to say Thank you! Since we’ve made our announcements and sent out letters to our current customers regarding the latest state of play, we have been met with understanding and patience in the main, which is truly appreciated.
There’s no secret that within the whole construction industry there has been an unprecedented demand.
In our own case this is a Doubling of our normal workload over 9 months or so. This shown no real sign of slowing generally. Although there was a small dip in sales last month, we’re quoting a lot of work, and this usually leads to sales. Although things can change quickly, it looks set to continue for the moment.
Looking to reduce lead times by Increasing fitting capacity by recruiting is proving impossible, because of the same high demand for Labour.
We have decided to completing all our orders in contract number order, rather than focusing on those that scream the loudest, which seems to be the fairest way to go about things.
There is a very small minority of customers who are expressing frustration, which We do understand. I would appeal to those to please bear in mind that that this situation cannot be helped, and is largely out of our hands. My hard-working staff are doing their best in a very challenging situation.
It’s worth noting that although best estimates for installation are sometimes given at point of sale in good faith, out contracts are not taken on the basis of time being critical, and because of situations which are out of our control, there is no contractual obligation or penalty if more time is required.
Manufacturing up the line is struggling with supply issues, shortages due to the huge increase in demand, and very volatile rising costs.
On a positive note, once we get to site, our reviews and independent survey statistics are very good. So, although it’s taking us longer to get to site, once we’re there, clients are reporting very positively about our output.

Case studies from Peninsula Home Improvements...
An aluminium glazed extension.
Our client wanted to really open up their living space to their garden. What better way to achieve this than with cornerless bifold doors
This enables a seamless transition from inside to outside and truly encapsulates modern living
We also installed the aluminium windows to really help the rear of this home stand out
We were asked to create and project manage the design and build of a highly-glazed and totally bespoke single storey extension on a stone cottage. The key aims were to include a zinc roof, lots of light, a circular roof light, stonework cut out into the house, tall as possible front frames (with the upstairs windows providing height restrictions) and delivery of the project right up to the point where our clients could simply move furniture in.
We are extremely pleased with the results, as are our clients who really love the space - so much so that it has become one of the most loved areas of the property.
When you have a view as stunning as this you want to be able to enjoy it and this recent installation in Bethesda certainly makes the most of the panoramic vista.
The homeowners approached us having seen our Garden Room in Fron Goch Garden Centre and asked us to design, install and project manage this beautiful new living room.
The task involved us handling the planning permission and building regulations, undertaking the demolition of the existing PVC conservatory, doing all building works, the design and installation, plus the co-ordination of all suppliers and what a result – the homeowner is delighted as are we!
We continue to develop our presence in the North West and are delighted with this new extension with roof lantern we've recently completed in in Northwich, Cheshire.
We've recently installed a number of new gothic windows and cladding around the front door of a home in Pwllheli.
We recently installed the very first SDL Acubis in the UK. This 4m by 3.5m stand-alone structure has been installed in Rhosneigr and we’re sure you’ll agree that it’s spectacular.
Building on the success of our Garden Room collaboration with Fron Goch Garden Centre, we are now in the process of working with them on an extension for their award winning Restaurant.
We’ve designed a single-glazed cover to go over the outdoor patio area which will be used for the restaurant as well as a showcase for Fron Goch’s Outdoor Living department and product demonstrations. We will also have a Peninsula exhibition area which will become a satellite sales centre.
Planning approval has been submitted with a view to having the build completed in March in time for the start of the gardening season.

A client approached Peninsula to design and install a LivinRoof to fully enjoy the view of their terrific garden. This LivinRoof was designed with grey PVC frames with vision glass panels!
We’ve teamed up with The Marram Grass in Newborough to design and build a unique Studio Pod on-site.
The Pod, which will be known as the Peninsula Studio is the first of its type not only on Anglesey but in North Wales and will be used by self-taught and highly acclaimed chef Ellis Barrie as a demonstration kitchen, a private dining room and a classroom for tutorial sessions.
Ken Grayson, CEO of Peninsula Home Improvements said; “Liam and Ellis first approached us just for the design and build of the Studio Pod but from working closely with them we’ve built up this relationship and have now taken it further by officially sponsoring it too. The Peninsula Studio is a completely bespoke design which will provide a well-insulated roof, with plenty of light via the cutting edge flat roof lights, that the boys can use as a demo kitchen studio and teaching space all the year round.
“In return for our collaboration and sponsorship we will benefit from branding in Ellis’ twice monthly videos promoting seasonal produce and cooking and his indepth cookery lessons. We’ll also have a link to our website from their Youtube videos and references on other social media platforms.”
We’re on schedule with the development so the Peninsula Studio will be opening very soon!
